Translated by: Joel R. Meador

1. The Sorbians moved against the Germans in the field,
They understood not a single word of German.

2. They saddled their dun colored horses all together,
They put on their jingling spurs.

3 .They put on their flashing swords,
Then they all gathered in the same field.

4 .They began to move against the Germans for the first time,
There they won, yes, they won a great victory.

5. As the King and Prince experienced this,
He allowed them one and all to come before him.

6. He gave each of them a splendid garment,
And they all pledged their services to the King.

7. The next time the Sorbians moved into the field,
They again achieved a very great victory.

8. As the King and Prince experienced this,
He allowed them one and all to come before him.

9. He permitted them to be clad in genuine velvet,
He dressed them all in the color of scarlet.

10. For the third time the Sorbians moved across the field,
And for the third time they achieved a great victory.

11. As the King and Prince experienced this,
He allowed all of them to come before him.

12. Yes, he allowed all of them to come before him,
And gave each man there a dun colored horse.

13. He gave a dun colored horse to each man there,
Over and beyond that he gave them flashing swords for jewelry.
