1. On a sea stand two castles,
Two castles so very high.
In one lives a handsome young man,
And in the other a beautiful maiden.
They love each other dearly,
But cannot cross the sea.
So the young man writes the maiden
“Fifteen musicians will play
And four drummers will show the way.
And my beloved will be so happy,
That we are together.”

2. And so the lad set off across the sea,
Across the sea so deep.
After seven days he arrived there,
Where his beloved was waiting for him.
They joined their hands together,
And stepped into a boat.
And he took her in his arms,
And soon they reached his land.
“Can you hear the musicians and
The drummers playing so loudly?”
“Yes, and everything is going so well.
It’s really pleasing to me.”

3. On a sea stand two castles,
Two castles so very high.
One is so very empty,
But in the other a wedding is going on.
So splendid is the groom.
So splendid is the bride.
And the guests so happily
Celebrate the wedding with them.
Thirty musicians play so well,
And eight drummers, too.
And even the sea joins in, too,
And celebrates with them.

1. Nat mor-jom ste-ji-tej hro-daj,
dwaj jro-daj wy-so-kej,
a we jed-nym rja-ne je hol-ěo

Wo-naj so lu-bo mě-je-štaj,
hro-ma-dźe přinc pak nje-mó-že-štaj.
Wón da swo-jej lub-ce na-pi-sać,
zo chce ju přez mor-jo wzać.
Pjat-na-ćim hudź-bni-kam hrać chcu dać,
bub-na-rjam šty-rjom za-bub-no-wać.
To bu-dźe lub-ce so spo-do-bać,
zo ja tak wje-so-ły sym.

2. Ha lubk je na morjo wujěl,
na morjo hłuboke.
Ha za sydom dnjow je tam dojěl,
hdźež lubka tam čakaše.
Wonaj sej ručce zawdaštaj,
hromadźe na čołm poskočištaj.
Wón z pažomaj mócnje zahiba
a bórze dojědźe kraj.
Słyšiće hercow nět jimaj hrać,
bubnarjow mócnje zabubnować?
Haj, to so lubce tež spodoba,
a jemu dobro so zda.

3. Nad morjom stejitej hrodaj,
dwaj hrodaj wysokej,
a wejednym nětko je pusto,
w tym druhim pak šumi kwas.
Nazdobna je ta njewjesta,
nazdobny je tež nawoženja.
A znimaj so hosćo wjesela,
zo smědźa kwasować tu.
Třicećo hercy rad' dźěłaju,
bubnarjo wosmjo bubnuja tu.
Do reji morjo tež měša so
a šumi z wjesołosću.
