Andreas Kiesling was born October 31 1827 in Gross Radisch and died on February 16 1910. His wife was Johanna Pietsch. Andreas was the eldest son of Johanna and Hanna Kiesling who died on the passage to Texas aboard the Ben Nevis. Andreas and Johanna, along with their first three children immigrated to Texas in 1859. Andreas and Johanna are buried in the Kaase family cemetery in Swiss Alp, Texas.

Andreas is believed to have served in the Prussian Army from 1847 to 1851. I am seeking any verification of this information available, i.e., source of this information or unit in which he served.
