Luther's "Christian Guide for Each Day"

Sunday 12 May 2013 at 06:00 am.

12 March

He was wounded for our transgressions and crushed for our sins. Isaiah 53:5

Here you see the severe wrath and unchangeable seriousness over sin and sinners, in that God also did not want to release His own most beloved from sinners unless He made severe complete atonement for them. What will a sinner encounter, if the most beloved Child is crushed like this? There has to be an unspeakable seriousness here, that such an immeasurably great Person goes against this and suffers and dies over this, and when you real deeply consider that God's Son Himself suffers, then you will truly be frightened, and indeed the longer the deeper. Sin has to be completely killed, otherwise it will kill you.

So there you have another one,

In Christ,

Elmer Hohle
