Daphne Garrett died on 21 Jan 2001. During the last 20 years of her life she was an instrumental force at the archives and museum of the Texas Wendish Historical Society. While not a Wend or married to one, she took the archives in hand and helped bring it to the highest levels of achievement. Also during this time she wrote articles for the TWHS Newsletter to help promote the society. These writings of hers are published posthumously.
