Dear Reader!!
Must finally dig up some news from our corner of the world, or else the readers will think that the Warda Correspondent doesn’t exist anymore. However, most probably the Walburg Correspondent will really be worried and he will wonder where I have been. Well, I haven’t disappeared yet and I am still in Warda, and not like the Walburg Correspondent, who seems to be in a half dozen places at the same time. I, unfortunately, do not have a duplicate of myself. And the Walburg Correspondent doesn’t have to worry that our boys might be angry because they were not caught by a girl during this past leap year. Our beauties from Warda are not the jealous types, and they leave it up to the boys to get caught and this one can see that last year we did not record a single wedding in Warda.
I also read in a newspaper that at a place not mentioned that women would like to have a law stating that they should have the right to present a marriage proposal to a man – well what a character!
I wonder if there were not enough opportunities for them last year to do so. For sure, they could not be readers of the Volksblatt; otherwise, they would have heeded the warnings of the Walburg Correspondent had issued.
The best of thanks to friend G. Biar for the transmitted greeting. I will take note of that and visit them when I come to Thorndale.
The health situation here is so far good, only we could really use a good soaking rain. We had a small shower yesterday but the north wind took all of the moisture right away again. But enough for today.

Werthen Leser!
Muß doch endlich einmal wieder etwas aus [ ]ter Ecke höten lassen, sonst werden die Leser denken, das der Warda Korrespondent nich mehr existiert. Am meisten wird aber wohl der Walburger Korrespondent voll Sorge und Neughr sein, wo ich bin. Nun ich bin ja noch nicht verschwunden, sondern bin noch in Warda, und nicht, wie der Walburger Korrespondent, auf etwa ein halb dozend Plätze zu gleicher Zeit. Habe nun eben seinen doppelgänger. Nach daruber braucht sich der Walburger nicht Sorge machen, daß sich unsere Jungends hier vielleicht ärgern, weil sie im Schaltjahre von seiner erwischt wurden! Unsere Wadaer Schönen sind nun einmal nicht eifersüchtig, sondern überlassen es, bis sie von dem Jungends erwischt werden, und das kann man auch heraus sehen, daß wir letztes Jahr in Warda nicht eine einzige Hochzeit zu verzeichnen hatten.
Ich los auch in einer Zeitung, daß irgendwo ein Gesetz haben möchte. wonach Frauen des Recht haben sollen, dem Mann Heirats-anträge zu stellen. – Nun so eine.
Ob die wohl letztes Jahr dazu nicht gemna Gelegenheit gehabt hat. Die kann seine Leserin des Volksblattes sein, den sonst würde sie wohl die Vernungen des Walburger Correspondenten beherzigt haben.
Freund G. Biar gesten Dank für den übersandten Gruß. Werde mich darnach richten, und sie auch besuchen, wenn ich wieder nach Thorndale komme.
Der Gesundheitszustand hier is soweit gut, nur einen durch-öringenden Regen konnten wir gebrauchen. Wir hatten zwar gestern einen kleinen Schauer, aber der Nord-wind fangt sie ganze Feuchtigkeit gleich wieder auf. Doch genug für heute.
