Dear Worthy Volksblatt.
An event which does not often occur in families, perhaps may be of interest to readers of the Volksblatt.
The mother of the undersigned, Mrs. Johanne Zoch, wife of the late Johann Zoch, celebrated her 91st birthday on August 29th.
At this ceremony, a friend took upon himself the task of enumerating the total number of offspring of the old mother, that hereby follows: own children living 6. Living grandchildren 66. Great grandchildren123 and Great-great-grandchildren11. The total number of descendants still living, 194.
The old mother is still quite healthy and does not miss the opportunity to still pick cotton.

Wertes Volksblatt.
Ein seltenes Ereignis welches nicht oft in Familien vorkomt, dürfte vielleicht die Leser des Volksblattes intressiren.
Die Mutter des Unterzeichneten, Frau Johanne Zoch, des verstorbenen Johann Zoch, feierte am 29 August ihren 91sten Geburtstag.
Zu dieser Feier hatte sich ein Freund zur Aufgabe gemacht, die sämmtliche Nachkommenschaft der alten Mutter aufzuzählen, die hiermit folgt: Eigene lebende Kinder 6. Lebende Enkelkinder 66. Urenkel 123 und Großurenkel 11. Sämmtlich jetzt lebende Nachkommen 194.
Die alte Mutter ist noch recht gesund und läßt es sich nicht nehmen, noch immer etwas Baumwolle zu pflücken.
