John Schmidt a.k.a. Hans Kower

John Schmidt also known as (AKA) Hans Kowar was the second son of Wendish immigrant Juri Kowar (George Schmidt) and his Texas born Wendish wife Hanna Krause. Educated by Teacher Gerhardt Kilian at St Paul Lutheran School at Serbin he became one of the correspondents to the Giddings Deutsches Volksblatt wherever he lived, first at Warda and later in Houston.
